Teacher in Liberia
Back in 1977, Augustine Doe (left) was a student at J.T Nimely Elementary School, a school that is now run by the LEAP programme. He was taught by Francis N. Blamo (right). In a nice twist of fate, the two have recently been reunited: they now teach side by side in the school.
Augustine continues to be impressed by his old teacher, whom he says teaches with the same zest and energy he always had. “This makes me super proud,” Augustine smiles. “I am very grateful to this man – he made me who I am today.”
Augustine is a kindergarten teacher, and he is passionate about supporting children living in rural Liberia to get a good education. He says that Bridge has had a massive impact on his community, and he is determined to continue to help spread the good work.
