Sandra Akinleye

Meet Sandra Akinleye, an academy manager in Lagos that prides herself on her teachers performing well.

“I support my teachers by giving them moral support and academic support,” she says. “Three times a week I go into classrooms to observe each teacher.”

The main thing that Sandra looks for when observing lessons is that teachers are effectively using the teaching techniques that they learnt at teacher training. This includes narrating the positive, so that pupils are motivated to succeed.
